About the Edgo Group
Edgo was founded in
1956, as one of the first privately owned engineering companies in the Middle
East. At that time its principal activities included drilling services,
hydro-geological studies and land development. The wells that it drilled, often
in challenging desert locations, produced the water which enabled the growth of
cities such as Dubai and Riyadh. Edgo eventually became the largest water well
drilling contractor in the region while providing services to the major oil
companies and EPC contractors. Over many years Edgo has demonstrated the spirit
and determination necessary to succeed in physically harsh and politically
complex environments.
Edgo’s formation came about in response to the growing needs of countries in the
Middle East to develop their infrastructure. Initially the company focused on
projects associated with the oil, gas, water and power industries. Over the
years it has diversified into construction, telecommunications, technology, real
estate development and project financing.
Today a network has been established with qualified local partners and
international companies who are able to deliver viable integrated service
packages. Yet a pioneering, resilient spirit still pervades the group even as it
has evolved into a multi disciplinary business operating throughout the Middle
East, Africa, Europe and North America.
Currently Edgo serves energy markets in these regions through 33 bases in 21
countries with a focus on oilfield services and logistic support.
How is it done? We believe there are four strands to Edgo’s success - its
people; its integrated service packages; its local partnerships and its roots in
the communities that it serves – all underpinned by a long-term commitment to
our customers and our partners.
